Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Risk & Compliance Analyst performs varied analytical work in support of the Human Resources Division’s compliance with applicable federal and state laws, California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) rules and policies, Government Code, California Code of Regulations, State Administrative Manual provisions, Personnel Management Memos, collective bargaining agreements, departmental policies and procedures, and other applicable control agency requirements.
The incumbent reviews Human Resources policies, procedures, records, transactions, and business practices to identify compliance issues and areas of risk; researches and interprets applicable personnel authorities; conducts administrative compliance reviews; prepares findings and recommendations; assists management with corrective actions; tracks changes in personnel requirements; prepares reports and related documentation; and provides technical guidance to Human Resources staff and management. The incumbent exercises initiative and sound judgment in performing assigned analytical work and maintains the confidentiality of sensitive personnel information. Assignments at the Analyst I/ II level are performed with greater independence and responsibility consistent with the classification specification.In accordance with CCR 249.3, this job control may be used to fill subsequent vacancies.
