Laser OperatorAre you ready to start a career in manufacturing? Parsons Company has an opportunity for you in our 1st Operation department as a Laser Operator! As a Laser Operator you are the first in the process to create our customer's product! You will be responsible for loading and unloading material on and off the laser platform by using an overhead crane. You will then run the program to begin the laser process which will cut the material into the shape designated by the job traveler. Once the laser completes the cutting process, you will inspect each piece and ensure there is no slag that needs removed, then organize and count the finished product onto a pallet before sending to the next operation. Finally, you will use a crane to remove the remaining skeleton safely into the scrap pile for recycling. This position will report to the Fabrication supervisor.Essential FunctionsMust be able to understand and interpret job instructions, blueprints, manuals and specifications.Must be able to measure and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, the sequence of operations and setup requirements.Must be able to effectively communicate, collaborate and cooperate with supervisors, co-workers, vendors and customers.Must be able to calculate, set and adjust machine controls.Must be able to perform work and maintain/operate machinery safely and efficiently with limited supervision.Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.Must be able to report to work on-time and work overtime, including weekends when necessary.Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality or productivity.Must be able to perform the essential functions of related jobs for cross-training and capacity management.Must be able to stand for long periods of time.Must be able to go up and down stairs.Must be able to bend/stoop, squat/crouch, climb, kneel and twist.Must be able to lift/carry/pull/push up to 50 pounds unassisted.Must be able to operate pneumatic and/or motorized hand-held tools such as sanders, grinders, drills, deburrers, impact wrenches, air chisels, or similar hand-held equipment.Must be able to maintain full awareness of surrounding manufacturing activities and recognize and respond appropriately to safety hazards and alarms.QualificationsNo experience required, but preferredHigh school diploma is preferredA commitment to quality work, attendance and teamworkPay & BenefitsThis position pays an hourly beginning wage of $22 - $25.30. The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(K) match, profit sharing, etc.You are eligible for all holidays beginning on your first day of employment.
