Closing date: September 1, 2026 Title: ASSOCIATE DEAN ACADEMIC AFFAIRS Employee Type: Faculty Department: LSUNO A/H-Administration Campus Location: ALLIED HEALTH - ADMINISTRATION Job Summary / Basic Functions The associate dean for academic affairs provides leadership and oversight for academic programs within the College/School, ensuring excellence in curriculum, accreditation compliance, and student learning outcomes. The role includes responsibility for accreditation oversight across nine (9) academic programs, shared curriculum management, curriculum review and approval processes, and academic policy oversight, while maintaining an active faculty role in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. Maintenance of the faculty manual and related academic policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Required Education: Doctorate Required Field of Study: Earned terminal degree in an appropriate discipline. Number of years required to perform the job: Five Type of experience required: Eligibility for appointment at the rank of associate professor or professor. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and record of scholarly or professional achievement. Experience with accreditation, curriculum development, and academic assessment. Strong organizational and communication skills. Additional Information About Our School/Department Established in 1970, by the Board of Supervisors, the School of Allied Health Professions comprises both undergraduate and graduate programs. Baccalaureate degrees (Bachelor of Science) are offered in Cardiopulmonary Science and Medical Laboratory Science. The Department of Communication Disorders offers a Master of Communication Disorders degree in Speech and Language Pathology and a Doctor of Audiology (AuD) in hearing. The Department of Occupational Therapy offers the Master of Occupational Therapy Degree, the Department of Physical Therapy offers a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, and the Department of Counseling offers the Master of Health Sciences degree. The SAHP also includes the Human Development Center, which provides programs to increase the capacity of healthcare providers for individuals with developmental and acquired disabilities. The SAHP provides multidisciplinary outpatient services to achieve diversity of patient objectives that include diagnostic, therapeutic, and restorative services to enable patients to achieve as much functional, social, and occupational independence as is reasonably possible.
