We are looking for a Customer Service Representative to support a nonprofit organization in Monterey, California. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who enjoys assisting the public, handling transactions accurately, and creating a welcoming experience at community-facing events. The person in this role will help guide attendees, respond to service inquiries, and provide dependable front-line support in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Assist visitors and customers by answering questions, providing directions, and ensuring a positive service experience during events and daily operations.
• Handle credit card and cash transactions with accuracy while following established payment and reconciliation procedures.
• Respond to inbound customer inquiries promptly and professionally, and support outbound follow-up communication when needed.
• Enter customer and order information into internal systems with close attention to detail and timeliness.
• Coordinate with on-site leadership to maintain smooth service flow and address attendee needs as they arise.
• Support event-related customer service activities, including helping guests navigate festival or fairground locations.
• Resolve routine service issues efficiently and escalate more complex concerns to the appropriate team member when necessary.• At least 1 year of experience in customer service, call center support, or a similar client-facing role.
• Proven ability to manage inbound calls and deliver courteous, solution-focused assistance.
• Experience processing cash and credit card payments accurately in a busy setting.
• Comfortable performing order entry or data input tasks with strong attention to detail.
• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse audiences.
• Ability to work effectively in an event-based or high-traffic environment while staying organized.
• Reliable attendance, a customer-first mindset, and willingness to adapt to changing daily needs.
