About the Role

The Assistant Manager supports the planning, organization, training, and leadership of restaurant operations while helping the team achieve goals related to sales, costs, employee retention, guest satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, and sanitation .

This role works closely with the General Manager and restaurant leadership to maintain strong operational standards, develop employees, and provide a consistently positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support daily restaurant operations and ensure guests receive friendly, responsive, and professional service.
• Maintain standards for food quality, preparation, presentation, cleanliness, sanitation, and restaurant appearance.
• Hire, train, schedule, coach, and develop restaurant team members.
• Support staffing and labor management based on anticipated business needs.
• Monitor employee attendance, performance, and adherence to company policies.
• Assist with cash handling, reconciliation, receiving, paperwork, reports, and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and labor requirements.
• Address operational issues and provide recommendations to restaurant leadership.
• Support incident reporting and workplace investigations when necessary.
• Step into restaurant operations as needed to maintain efficient service.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of restaurant management experience
• Restaurant or food industry experience
• Strong knowledge of front-of-house operations and food & beverage service
• ServSafe Manager Certification required
• ServSafe Alcohol Certification, if applicable
• Strong leadership, decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with POS systems and basic cash-handling procedures
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
