Pediatric Medical Genetics, Division Chief The Department of Pediatrics at Duke University School of Medicine is seeking an outstanding physician at the Associate Professor or Professor level to serve as Chief for the Division of Medical Genetics. This is a wonderful opportunity to lead a group of outstanding faculty members in their mission of delivering the highest quality care to patients and their families at Duke Children's in the Medical Genetics program. Proven leadership and excellence in clinical care, education, research, scholarship, and administrative experience are required. Candidates must have a Doctor of Medicine (or equivalent) and be board-certified in Medical Genetics. Candidates must also have or be eligible for a North Carolina medical license. Priorities for the Division Chief of Medical Genetics include providing comprehensive services in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of all forms of hereditary disorders and birth defects affecting fetuses, newborns, children, adolescents and adults. Our faculty and staff are comprised of clinical geneticists, biochemical geneticists, molecular geneticists, research faculty, genetic counselors, psychologists, nurse practitioners, physicians’ assistants, physical therapists, speech therapists, and social workers. All faculty excel at bedside teaching, and the division has been repeatedly honored for their teaching from graduating pediatrics and medicine‑pediatrics residents. The division has an international reputation for excellence in clinical care and research. The Duke Department of Pediatrics has a long history of excellence in patient care, graduate and undergraduate medical education, and clinical, laboratory and health services research. Our Department currently includes approximately 220 faculty, 75 residents, and 60 subspecialty fellows.
