This opportunity entails being responsible providing technical experience in structural engineering for architectural projects to serve the structural engineering efforts through all phases of HNTB’s complex building projects. Performs structural engineering tasks such as research for code and project criteria, design calculations, and detailing and design for buildings. Creates analysis models, hand calculations, and drawings during all phases of design, including construction administration. Projects include nationally significant and challenging Sports, Aviation, Government, Rail and Transit building structures for HNTB’s growing and diverse Architecture and Infrastructure practice.What You’ll Do:Leads structural engineering analysis and design of building structures including sport facilities, airport facilities, transit facilities and more in support of HNTB’s national architectural practice.Prepares structural engineering analysis and design of framing and foundation systems for steel, concrete, post-tensioned concrete, masonry, and wood building frame systems.Collaborates with structural engineering peers and teammates to leverage experience and learning to enhance the creativity and success of the structural practice.Develops creative structural design solutions from concept design through final design.Provides structural engineering services during bidding and construction phases of projects, including submittal review, providing solutions to construction questions and coordination, and site observation.Leads technical tasks of project teams including structural engineers and BIM technicians.Coordinates design and provides structural engineering technical direction with multi-disciplined architectural teams.Assists project management with administrative operations, such as cost-control on projects and quality control for assigned projects.Mentors junior staff and assists in professional development of staff members.Performs other duties as assigned.What You’ll Need:Bachelor’s degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience.What You'll Bring:Licensed Professional Engineer: PE having passed the SE1 exam.Core structural engineering skills in steel, concrete and masonry.Competency in wind and seismic load analysis.Competency to develop calculations and drawings for construction.Deep understanding of Building Codes (IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI).Software proficiency (Revit/BIM 360 and either ETABS, SAP 2000, or RISA).Experience leading a team of structural engineers.What We Prefer:Licensed Structural Engineer: SE having passed the SE2 exam.Master's degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering with primary focus on structuresExperience with structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP 2000, RISA, RAM, etc.Additional InformationClick here for benefits information: HNTB Total RewardsClick here to learn more about Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/VeteranVisa sponsorship is not available for this position.#EL #LI-EL1.Locations:Bellevue, WA (Seattle), Seattle, WA (Downtown).......The approximate pay range for the Greater Seattle, WA Metro Area is $126,942.61 - $198,551.24.
