District Fitness Manager
The District Fitness Manager takes the lead in everything they do. The District Fitness Manager is responsible for providing leadership and support to our team of Fitness Managers, Personal Trainers, club managers and their clients. You are responsible for the quality of personal training and member satisfaction. Other responsibilities of this position include sales reporting, training, renewal tracking and the personal training education of Fitness Managers, Personal Trainers and other team members. Additionally, you will drive the success of personal training revenue and participate in the overall leadership of the company.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Ensure success of the Personal Training department, group training, financial revenue, employee experience, and member satisfaction across all locations
- Weekly club visits to assess operational effectiveness and provide input and consultation through weekly agendas
- Leading and organizing weekly calls with General Managers and Fitness Managers weekly calls in conjunction with a monthly in-person meeting
- Completing the personal training section of monthly club audits with appropriate feedback to ensure standards and performance metrics improve
- Performance management and timely administration of performance evaluations to foster a positive work environment
- Drive personal training revenue through creation and implementation of initiatives to consistently ensure compliance with company expectations
- Collaborate with Director of Sales & Operations to create and execute growth strategies to increase member participation in various fitness offerings including personal training and team training
- Implement policies/procedures to ensure proper data integrity and analyze financial performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Subject matter expert on field fitness operations and provide consultation on district strategies.
- Partner with the district team to support and execute promotional events and provide direction for all locations
- Consult Senior Leadership team on optimizing personal training staffing levels and schedules to ensure team accountability and growth.
- Partner with General Managers and Fitness Managers to ensure clubs sell personal training packages at the appropriate percentage of penetration to new and existing members
- Provide feedback on the team's professionalism, service, clients, and personal training skills to build and develop the personal training department regarding trainer acquisition and education
- Partner with Human Resources to drive strategic talent plans for recruiting, staffing and talent development of Fitness Managers.
Performance Metrics:
- Achieve a minimum of 80% of the set goal for the personal training draft at all locations
- Achieve a minimum of 20% attachment rate on all 3-Pack sales at all locations

- Subject Matter Expertise: Evident through informed decision making and effective implementation of initiatives that is provided through consultation and guidance in department
- Effective Communication and Coordination: showcased through streamlined communication and successful execution of corporate initiatives
- Revenue Generation and Compliance: Drive personal training revenue through strategic initiatives and ensure compliance with company expectations. Success is demonstrated through increased revenue and adherence to company standards
- Team Development and Accountability: Develop and grow the personal training team through acquisition, education, and ongoing evaluation. Success is reflected in the growth and professionalism of the team, as well as meeting revenue targets
- Strategic Talent Management: Partner with Senior Leadership team in development of strategic talent plans for recruiting, staffing and developing Fitness Managers that is measured through a strong and capable team that supports Company Objectives.
- Member-Centric Approach: Maintain a thorough understanding of member needs and ensure appropriate use of exercise equipment. Success is demonstrated through high member satisfaction, MXM Scores and retention rates
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field
- Minimum of three (3) years' sales experience with one (1) year sales management experience
- Minimum of five (5) years' work experience in exercise science or related field (i.e. personal training) preferred
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a supervisory/leadership capacity preferred
- Valid nationally recognized Personal Training Certification and maintained throughout employment
- Valid CPR/AED certification (including infant and child) within the first 45 days of employment and maintain throughout employment
- PC literate, including Microsoft Office and various other products
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Self-motivated/competitive (driver) with the ability to display energetic and enthusiastic qualities
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit for extended periods
- Must be able to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds
- Must be able to perform the following tasks: walk, squat, crouch, stoop, stand, listen, read and write
