ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Job TitleEssential Functions:Direct and coordinate continuous improvement activities utilizing data driven problem solving techniques – 5S, Kaizens, Kanban, Problem Solving (8D / 5-Why), Six Sigma, ME360, Gemba WalksProject Management of all projects involving external contractors and ensure contractors working on site adhere to all plant safety policiesDevelop, maintain & update electrical and site drawings as required via AutoCADAssist in the commissioning of new plant equipment and systems following structured change processResponsible for leading design changes and equipment overhauls involving new control systems or newly tied in controlled systemsConducting training with applicable personnel for system operations to increase awareness and operation capabilitySet up, program, verify, and modify electrical controls panels, circuitry, and equipmentContinuous improvement of control systems and processesProgram, troubleshoot and repair PLC's (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Eurotherm)Assist in training and advanced troubleshooting as required with MaintenanceExperience with programming of HMI/SCADA software (iFix, FTView, Ignition)Experience with programming servo and inverter drives (Yaskawa, TECO, Allen Bradley, etc.)Maintain electrical skills and knowledge through continual education classesAble to read and interpret electrical schematics, relay logic and ladder diagramsAdherence to the NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its' Values and Principles.Other duties as assigned by managerTop 3 Competencies Needed for Success in the Role:Passion for Excellence: Takes personal responsibility and ownership for achieving results and objectives. Effectively manages the change process to ensure that the organization remains effective throughout.Qualifications Required:Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, experience in lieu of degree will be consideredExperience with Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block (Studio 5000 a plus)Experience with HMI/SCADA programmingExperience setting up process network devices and IIOTMust be able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent troubleshooting ability, technical knowledge of electrical equipment, and be able to perform well under pressureMust be proficient in the use of Microsoft based software and have exceptional computer skillsQualifications Desired:1 to 5 years of experience as an Electrical/Automation/Controls EngineerExperience programming with various programming languages (Visual Basic and Python are a plus)Experience with Networking and ITPrior maintenance supervisory experience a plusExperience designing electrical circuits for use in industrial controls, and knowledgeable of the NEC and OSHA standards as each relate to circuit designStrong interpersonal and communication skills.CAD drawing capabilities – Proficient in AutoCADWe offer an excellent compensation and benefits package, which includes 401k, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, company paid holidays, paid vacations, and education assistance.The Salary Range posted represents Pilkington North America's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of the posting.
