PRODUCTION LABORER

Hours: 7a-3:30p
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Location: CHS/NJ
Pay: $21-$23 per hour

JOB SUMMARY

The Production Laborer supports manufacturing operations by performing a variety of production activities in the Deburr, Laser, and Plate Plasma areas . This position assists with processing, handling, inspecting, and preparing metal components while following established safety, quality, and production requirements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain clean and organized work areas by removing debris and scrap material and placing waste in the appropriate receptacles.
• Perform general production labor duties, including:
• Grinding and deburring metal parts.
• Punching cut parts from sheet metal.
• Placing and organizing punched parts onto pallets.
• Moving materials to designated work areas using a pallet jack and/or forklift.
• Operating the PEM inserter machine.
• Follow established production procedures and work instructions.
• Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy throughout the production process.
• Follow all environmental, health, and safety policies and regulations.
• Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work effectively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Perform other production-related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Basic ability to identify part numbers, measurements, and production requirements.
• Willingness and ability to learn various manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled hours.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a quality-focused approach to work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds .
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift.
• Ability to safely lift and move materials and components as required.
• Ability to work around noise, metal dust, sparks, heat, and manufacturing equipment .
• Ability to wear required PPE for the duration of the work shift.
• Ability to safely perform repetitive production tasks.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment .
