Position: Secondary Special Education Teacher

Reports To: Jr/Sr High Principal/Special Education Director

Salary: Per SEA Contract

Starting Date: As Soon As Possible

Qualifications:

• Teacher certification with any of the following special education endorsements: LD, CI, ASD, EI
• Teacher certification and/or willingness to obtain special education endorsement
• Preferred: Teacher Consultant Certification for Learning Disabilities
• Highly Qualified status

Performance Responsibilities:

• Classroom experience involving differentiated teaching and specially designed instruction
• Basic knowledge of child development as well as experience applying this knowledge to appropriate developmental activities
• Knowledge of teaching and learning styles including multiple intelligences, auditory, kinesthetic, visual, and language modalities
• Strong data collection and data analysis skills
• Exceptional communication skills including both oral and written skills
• Strong interpersonal skills along with the ability to be flexible
• Experience using assistive technology coupled with basic technology skills
• Ability to conduct IEP meetings and complete IEP-related documentation in conformance with the MI Special Education and IDEA rules
• Ability to conduct student classroom assessments and prepare reports as part of the Multidisciplinary Education Team (MET)
• Ability to report services provided as required by Medicaid
• Maintain attendance records and other data, records, and reports required by the program supervisor
• Adhere to all policies and procedures of the Stockbridge Community School District and Ingham ISD
• Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings
• Punctual, reliable and predictable attendance is required
• Other duties as assigned
