Critical Care Float Pool - Travel Registered Nurse - 2660 per week.

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Alabama license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >60 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB and no current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB.

Required Skills/Experience: - First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years’ experience and Cerner or Epic experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - CRRT preferred for Surgical ICU.

Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit & facility. - Holiday time off is not contractually guaranteed prior to arrival. - RTO needing approval: Martin Luther King Jr. Day: 1/19; Valentine’s Day week: 2/13 -15; entire month of March; Easter weekend: 4/3 - 4/5; Mother’s Day weekend: 5/8-10; Memorial Day week: 5/23 – 5/25; Father’s Day weekend: 6/19-21; Fourth of July: 7/3-7/5; Labor Day weekend: 9/5-9/7; Halloween: 10/30-11/1; Thanksgiving: 11/25-11/29; Christmas and New Year’s: 12/18-1/1. - Up to 7 days off may be approved, excluding provided blackout dates; blackout dates require NM/Eanh approval.

Unit Details: - Float pool covers General Cardiac, CVICU, MICU, Neuro ICU, and Surgical ICU. - Patient populations include STEMI, post heart cath with interventions, respiratory failure/ventilated, post cardiac arrest, post stroke care, renal failure, hypertensive emergency, sepsis, post op CABG, valve, thoracotomies, V-A and V-V ECMO, post op vascular surgery, acute respiratory failure, acute renal failure, acute liver failure, DKA, CVA, SAH, SDH, IPH, seizures, post-surgical, trauma, multisystem trauma, and neuro trauma. - Skills and procedures include vent care and management, hemodynamic monitoring, medication titrations, arterial lines, IABP, Impella, EKOS, CRRT/PrismaFlex, chest tubes, Swan-Ganz catheters, FloTrac monitoring, titratable drip management, hypothermia protocol, Tandem Life/Tandem Lung, trach care, vasopressor and sedation usage, central lines, and wound care. Neuro ICU EVD and ICP monitoring can be taught. - RNs are required to read and measure tele strips. - Uses Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell, and Spacelabs monitors. - Neuro ICU is a very busy unit with quick turnover.

Shift & Scheduling: - Weekend rotation: every other weekend; may work back-to-back weekends (rare). - On call: no. - Holiday expectations: one major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy. - Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.

Floating Requirements: - May float to like units/patient locations: MS-MS, MS-ICU task, MS-ER/MS holds; ICU-ICU, ICU-MS task or limit of 3, ICU-ER/ICU holds.

7 days maximum time off.
