Position Summary

Retail Cashiers are responsible for maintaining retail sales areas, utilizing POS systems to handle retail transactions, both cash and credit and answering questions from guests concerning Grand Canyon West locations and operations. Always provides outstanding customer service. Assists with the warehouse and inventory maintenance tasks.

Knowledge and Abilities

1. Ability to communicate well and interact with guests in a clear concise manner. 2. Ability to provide outstanding customer service by providing prompt, courteous and helpful information to guests. 3. Experience in use of POS systems and handling cash and credit transactions while following proper cash handling policies and procedures. 4. Ability to reconcile cash drawer and end of day sales reports. 5. Ability to work in a team environment, multi-task efficiently and maintain positive working relationships. 6. Knowledge of Grand Canyon West locations, operations, Hualapai history and culture.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Handle cash and credit retail transactions using the POS system. 2. Responsible for assigned cash drawer and end of day balancing of cash and sales reports. 3. Handle all transactions using proper cash control policies and procedures. 4. Assist guests with questions they have concerning Grand Canyon West locations, operations, Hualapai history and culture. Provide outstanding customer service using high service standards. 5. Assist with training of new retail employees on POS system, proper cash handling policies and procedures and model outstanding customer service. 6. Assist with maintaining retail inventory and assist in the warehouse, as directed. 7. Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Good oral communication skills. 2. Valid Driver's License with clean driving record preferred. 3. High School Diploma or GED. 4. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. 5. Prior experience working with a POS system or cash handling preferred. 6. Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members.

Working Conditions

Typical retail environment with high transaction volume. May be required to lift 25 lb. merchandise boxes. Must be able to work varying schedules, weekends and holidays. Grand Canyon Resort Corporation (GCRC) is wholly-owned by the Hualapai Tribe and is located in Peach Springs, Arizona. In 1988, the Hualapai People, who have been part of this land since time immemorial, established GCRC, welcoming millions of visitors each year to tour the area. The year 1883 is when the reservation was established, and occupiers are usually foreign to the land they occupy. To further increase tourism in the area, the Grand Canyon Skywalk was built in 2007. The Skywalk is a glass, horseshoe-shaped bridge that enables visitors to walk beyond the canyon walls at Grand Canyon West, suspending them 4,000 feet above the riverbed and providing an unparalleled view of this natural wonder.
