We have an opportunity for a Marketing Manager - Commercial Water Filtration - to join our Hanover Park, IL team. You will play a critical role in developing brand strategy and positioning by translating category strategy into actionable customer segment, market-level plans, and commercial impact. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining deep category intelligence, customer and segment insight, and value propositions, while owning strategic execution of go‑to‑market initiatives that improve sales effectiveness, positioning, and performance. This role will report to the Group Marketing Director of Commercial Water Solutions and be a key member of the Commercial Water Solutions marketing team. This role will work closely with Sales, Product Management, Program Management, Engineering, Legal, and Finance to ensure Pentair’s Filtration portfolio is positioned clearly, competitively, and credibly across priority customer markets. You will: Lead development of Pentair’s Filtration brand strategy to ensure strong positioning, meaningful value proposition, clear product differentiation, and brand messaging. Translate strategy into execution and measurable impact by owning customer segment‑level go‑to‑market plans, sales playbooks, and enablement aligned to category and commercial priorities. Develop and maintain category and customer segment intelligence, including market structure, customer segment insights, competitive analysis, and Voice of Customer (VOC) synthesis to inform category strategy and go‑to‑market priorities. Own customer segment‑level value propositions, messaging, and commercial claims, partnering closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Legal to ensure positioning is differentiated, accurate, and defensible. Lead commercially facing content strategy for assigned categories and customer segments, ensuring content supports priority use cases, buyer roles, and selling motions across direct and channel environments. Collaborate with the Group Marketing Leader and Demand Generation team to develop cohesive, multi‑media campaigns, integrated with sales activity consistent with business channel strategy and growth initiatives. Lead the development of channel customer insights, which translate directly into opportunities to grow channel programs. Work closely with Sales and Product Management to identify and address gaps in positioning, messaging, packaging, pricing, or enablement that limit commercial effectiveness within priority customer segments. Ensure continuous development, implementation and execution of customer‑facing tools and sales enablement assets including, but not limited to, dealer/distributor programs, channel programs, training, dealer portal content, and co‑op programs. Support product and portfolio launch, coordinating cross‑functionally to ensure customer‑segment‑specific readiness, adoption, and commercial impact through Phase 0 NPI involvement. Communicate clearly and effectively with cross‑functional partners, translating insight and strategy into structured guidance, execution plans, and recommendations that support decision‑making and field effectiveness. Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus. 6-8 years of experience in B2B marketing, strategic marketing, product marketing, or category marketing, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Specific experience in water treatment is a plus. Proven ability to develop market and segment insight and translate it into effective positioning, sales enablement, and GTM execution. Ability to lead people, ideas, and strategies with an influencing and collaborative leadership style. Experience in brand strategy development, market insights and performance analysis, and new product development. Experience with market activation planning, including identification of customer needs, creation of programs and tactics satisfying unmet voice of customers, customer segmentation, product application, and storytelling solutions. Strategic problem solver with strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and demonstrated ability to develop, implement and execute strategic marketing plans. About 25% travel nationally is required. Compensation: For this full‑time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $82300 - $152800 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
