Senior Estate Planning & Estate Administration Attorney (5+ Years Experience) Join Our Growing Trusts & Estates Practice We are seeking an experienced Estate Planning & Estate Administration Attorney to join our growing practice. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with 5+ years of experience who is passionate about delivering sophisticated estate planning solutions, guiding clients through estate and trust administration, and helping shape the future of a collaborative legal team. The ideal candidate is a strategic advisor, confident communicator, and natural mentor who enjoys building lasting client relationships while contributing to the firm's continued growth. Key Responsibilities Draft and implement comprehensive estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and advanced wealth transfer strategies. Manage all aspects of probate, trust, and estate administration from inception through final distribution. Advise individuals, families, fiduciaries, and business owners on estate planning, wealth preservation, and succession planning strategies. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional service and clear legal guidance throughout every stage of representation. Lead complex client matters while collaborating with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management. Mentor and develop junior attorneys by providing legal guidance, technical training, and constructive feedback to support their professional growth. Participate in client meetings, presentations, seminars, and educational events to strengthen client relationships and expand the firm's visibility. Contribute to business development initiatives through networking, referral relationship management, community involvement, and thought leadership. Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through additional planning and advisory services. Stay current on changes in estate planning, probate, trust administration, and tax laws to provide proactive legal counsel. Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active license and good standing with the North Carolina state bar. Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing estate planning and estate administration. Demonstrated experience handling sophisticated estate planning matters and probate/trust administration independently. Strong knowledge of federal and state estate, gift, and trust tax concepts. Excellent drafting, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and confidence with clients. Experience mentoring or supervising junior attorneys or legal staff is strongly preferred. Proven ability to manage multiple matters while maintaining exceptional client service and attention to detail. Business development experience, including networking, client relationship management, and generating new business, is highly desirable.
