About the Position of Automotive Mechanic Mavis's leaders in undercar repairs trust Automotive Mechanics to inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide variety of automotive services on customers' vehicles. Mechanic duties include inspecting undercar, brakes, struts, shocks, performing state-mandated inspections, changing oil and filters, checking fluids, replacing worn parts, and dismounting, mounting, rotating, and balancing tires. Qualifications Required qualifications: At least 18 years of age. Legally authorized to work in the United States. 2+ years of experience and/or training in automotive repair and maintenance, or equivalent education and experience. Extensive toolbox of personal tools for undercar repairs. Preferred qualifications: State inspection license(s). ASE certifications: Automotive Maintenance & Light Repair (G1), Suspension & Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5). Physical requirements: Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach, and perform repetitive movements consistent with vehicle maintenance.
