Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience required. 3 years of experience in PACU is required. License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California is required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required. Must-Have: Strong knowledge in airway management, anesthesia recovery, and pain management. Ability to work in preoperative and extended care units is necessary. Description: This position requires the ability to float to other facilities. The environment focuses on outpatient surgery procedures, excluding orthopedic and cardiac surgeries. Staff will be involved in a daily census involving various adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The patient-to-nurse ratio during days is 2 patients to 1 nurse and 3 patients to 1 nurse at night. The unit daily census is approximately 50 patients. Interdisciplinary support services include pharmacy and interpretation services. Completion of a thorough orientation and training ahead of the start date is necessary. References from recent employers must be provided at the time of application. Candidates should have the ability to manage and care for patients from various surgical procedures, ensuring safe recovery and discharge instructions. Travel experience is required. Candidates should have experience with various procedures and patient care management systems.
