Associate Veterinarian

Our mission is to become the most trusted and convenient destination for pet parents and partners, everywhere. What You’ll Do Empower the team to deliver an unparalleled client experience. Develop rapport with clients and resolve their needs and wishes. Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that delivers quality care while minimizing stress and discomfort of patients. Perform basic surgery and possess mastery of medical skills. Explain physical examination findings, communicate a diagnosis of the pet’s condition, and generate and present a treatment plan to the client. Educate clients on preventive health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products. Maintain client/patient records and ensure all logs are kept up to date through established protocols; assist colleagues with follow‑up and future management of the patient. Stay current with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine; attend continuing education meetings. Assist in developing the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care. Positively represent the clinic in the professional community and to the public. Support Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants as needed. Participate in self‑development courses along with Chewy Vet Care required compliance training. Perform related duties and assignments by management. Oversee operating, safety, and compliance procedures as required by applicable law and Chewy Vet Care processes and policies. Travel may be required. What You’ll Need A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD) is required. Active state license in good standing, DEA license and other state credentials as required. 2–3 years of experience in general medicine and surgery; residency or internship trained. Preferably 2 years of supervised experience with veterinary radiation machines. Ability to multitask with a high degree of integrity and accountability. Outstanding listening and problem‑solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable collaborating with other veterinary professionals in a team‑oriented environment. Passion for helping people and pets with compassion and an excellent customer‑service focus. Ability to multitask and perform well in a fast‑paced, self‑starter environment. Physical Job Requirements Standing or walking up to 80% of shift. Frequently lift 50–70 pounds, optionally using a team lift. Occasionally lift >70 pounds using a team lift. Stand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel. Compensation The base salary range for this role is $112,000–$179,500. In addition, this position is eligible for 401(k) and a new‑hire and annual equity grant.
