Description

Responsible for the overall coordination, administration and management of psychiatric services and ensures high quality, high utilization and adherence to Emanuel Medical Center policies, procedures and plans. Provides orientation and education to other staff members. Participates and maintains performance improvement activities to assure highest standards of care compliance with DNV standards. Responsible for developing, planning, and supervising mental health services to improve quality of life for mentally ill patients.

Qualifications

Minimal Qualifications:

BSN desirable

Licensed RN in state

Three years experience as an RN. At least one year of experience required with demonstrated leadership qualities, effective communication at all levels, knowledge of mental health psychiatric nursing.

Physical / Mental Demands:

• Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, walk and bend intermittently throughout the workday, lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these sources to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
• Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities assigned.
• External and internal applicants who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential job functions either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case by case basis.
• Position has a moderate expected exposure to blood borne pathogens.
