RN II, Med Surg (AHCL)

Provides professional nursing care to patients across the age spectrum within an assigned unit. Supervises and coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Assesses patient needs, problems and concerns. Performs data collection in an on-going systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive status, and including nutrition, pain, patient/family education, family involvement and patient advocacy. Assesses patient, family and caregiver learning needs and readiness for learning. Evaluates effectiveness and outcomes of care given, and adjusts plan of care process and provision as necessary with consultation as needed. Demonstrates succinct, legibly written documentation skills on all medical records and forms. Consistently documents pertinent information based on changes in patient condition/response and treatment provided. Navigates electronic medical record system to document completely and precisely. Participates in nursing research activities as requested. Formulates a goal-directed plan of care that is prioritized and based on patient diagnosis and anticipated patient outcomes. Individualizes updates and documents the plan of care. Includes the patient/family/designee (e.g. POA) in the planning process. Establishes priorities based on essential patient and family needs while incorporating available unit resources. Educates patients, families and caregivers appropriately on plan of care. Implements care in a thorough, safe, skillful, consistent and continuous manner. Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of health care team members. Regularly helps with orientation and training of new and existing employees and students, assisting them in learning nursing unit routines, policies and procedures, etc. Ensures compliance of team with applicable laws, rules and regulations. Communicates effectively with patients, families and members of the health care team while upholding a positive professional manner and service philosophy. Maintains and meets expectations on time for all competencies, license, certifications and education requirements as outlined by local administration, Adventist Health (AH), The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and all other regulatory agencies. Willingly performs other duties and innovations as assigned.

This position is for an EPIC conversion. Candidates must have EPIC and Cerner experience within the last 5 years and have worked as an employee of an organization / successfully completed a contract. Each work history entry must list the charting system used. If multiple EMR systems are listed on one job, dates must be provided to clarify when each system was used. No RTO is allowed. The listed start date is firm. Auto Offer EPIC BACKFILL, Night Shift - 36-48 hours per week (3x12s). MUST have recent EPIC experience within the last 12 months.
