About the Position

Job Title: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 9-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 4 shifts per week, 36 hours guaranteed Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active Illinois license or confirmation that application process has been initiated Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: EKG interpretation required by RN; experience with drip titration Description: This position involves working in an interventional radiology setting. The average number of cases per day is between 20-30. Common diagnoses include GI bleed, strokes, biopsy, central lines, drains, and vascular cases. A Charge RN is present on each shift from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM and does not take patients but manages cases and covers lunches. There is one Patient Care Technician to assist. Shifts will occur between 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM, with 9-hour shifts scheduled. Call requirements include primary and secondary call, with 6-8 shifts in 6 weeks, which includes weekends. Holiday call is also a requirement, with the department closed on holidays. The expected call response time is 30 minutes. Floating to other units is not required. Surgical scrubs will be provided. Patient care ratios are 1:1 intraprocedural and a maximum of 1:4 in phase 2 recovery. Familiarity with the EPIC electronic medical record system is beneficial.
