Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Help patients improve daily function, safety and independence under occupational therapist supervision. Key job duties Carry out occupational therapy treatment plans under the direction of a licensed occupational therapist. Provide therapeutic activities addressing daily living skills, strength, coordination and functional mobility. Teach patients and caregivers safe techniques, adaptive strategies and equipment use. Cross-train to support Cardiac Rehabilitation (ICR), including providing patient education and instruction within the COTA’s assigned role. Observe patient performance and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising therapist. Document treatment and maintain a safe, organized therapy environment.
