Pediatric Hospitalist

Our client in California is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist Physician for a 3-day assignment. This role involves comprehensive inpatient care, including rounding and 24-hour out-of-house call. The physician will manage a robust level II nursery, attend high-risk deliveries, stabilize neonates for transport, and care for uncomplicated pediatric patients. Practice Info Setting: Inpatient Staffing Mix: Sole pediatrician on call with remote backup support; no APPs; nursing staff is green Responsibilities Perform rounding with 24-hour call Manage a robust nursery in a rural area Attend high-risk deliveries (2-3 in a week stretch) Utilize delivery room skills, including airway management and emergency umbilical line placement in L&D and NICU Manage cases, stabilizing patients for transport Care for 3-5 normal newborns in the nursery on average Admit uncomplicated and stable pediatric patients for conditions such as dehydration, pneumonia, and asthma Manage 1-3 high-risk newborns on average, including growing preemies and those needing respiratory support Act as the sole pediatrician available for consult Transfer patients Compensation Strong compensation Benefits Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities Shift & Schedule LOA: 3 Days Call Schedule: Out-of-house call for 24-hour shifts (6 AM to 6 AM) Qualifications Board Certifications: Pediatrics Other Certifications: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
