Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Richmond, VA, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and active AWHONN fetal monitoring certification.

Details

• 24-bed Maternal Infant Unit (MIU) located on the 3rd floor of the Atrium building
• Labor & Delivery unit caring for vaginal delivery, C-section, antepartum, newborn, and postpartum patients
• Labor patient ratio is typically 1:1; postpartum and nursery ratios are 5–6:1
• GE fetal monitors used on the unit
• EMR system: Meditech CPN
• Night shift position: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every third weekend required, plus 12 hours of on-call per 4-week schedule
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license — VA state license or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, AAP card), and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate or Advanced) or NCCEFM
• Minimum 2 years of recent labor nursing experience required
• Experience in an LDRP setting with high birth volumes is preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Professional reference required (2 references required if candidate is licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Additional Information

• Night shift team includes labor nurses, nursery nurses, OB techs, and a unit secretary
• Navy blue scrubs required; MIU nurses wear pink badges for infant security
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• All certifications must remain active through at least the first 30 days of the assignment start date
