Placement Range: $10.00 Position Type: Student Employee Job Category: Student General Description: The Admissions, Records, and Graduation student worker is responsible for providing services to OCCC students, staff, and community in the office of Admissions, Records, and Graduation. Reports To: Admissions Coordinator Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours for the Fall or Spring semester or enrolled in a minimum of 3 hours for the Summer semester. Must have a 2.0 or higher GPA. OR Current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Positive human relations/customer service skills. Demonstrated ability to complete tasks with attention to accuracy and detail. Demonstrated ability to think critically, research, and recommend solutions to problems. Demonstrated ability to work as part of the Records and Graduation team. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in a written format. Physical Demands / Working Conditions General Physical Requirements: Sedentary work; the person in this position may occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Physical Activities: The position requires frequent movement within the Records Office and across campus, constant communication with students, faculty, staff, and others, standing in a stationary position as well as operating a computer, office machinery, and mobile devices with repetitive motions. Visual Acuity: The position requires a person to judge, observe, and assess accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work, and to make general observations. Working Conditions: Essential functions are performed in an indoor, office setting. Preferred Qualifications Successful completion of college credit coursework preferred. Previous experience working in a community college environment. Required Training Not specified. Work Hours Must be able to work during normal office hours 8 am – 6 pm. Provide students direct access to their individual records, OCCC transcripts, evaluation of college and high school transcripts, and general student information. Support a system that evaluates all incoming transcripts and scans documents for immediate viewing. Produce and distribute ID’s for students, faculty, and staff. Provide vehicle registration and parking decals for new and returning students. Provide referrals to other student services areas as appropriate. Answer incoming phone calls. Information referral. Utilize OCCC website for needed information. Assist Admissions, Records, and Graduation staff with data entry and auditing as needed. Job Duties (Safety / Policy & Procedures) Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures. Contribute to a safe educational & working environment. Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for injury and illness prevention for self and others. Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices. Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills. Be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
