Job Description
- Wash and sanitize: Clean plates, glasses, flatware, and cookware using a commercial machine or by hand.
- Hand-wash items: Scrub large pots, pans, or delicate items that cannot fit or go into the machine.
- Manage the dish pit: Sort, stack, and organize dirty and clean items to keep a steady flow for the kitchen staff.
- Store and stock: Put away clean dishes and restock them at service stations, bars, or line areas. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Kitchen Maintenance & Safety
- Sanitize workspace: Keep floors dry and clean, wipe down counters, and clear out debris.
- Manage waste: Empty trash cans, break down cardboard boxes, and take garbage to the dumpster.
- Monitor equipment: Check water temperatures, chemical levels, and machine performance, reporting any issues right away.
- Follow health codes: Adhere to safety, hygiene, and food sanitation regulations (like HACCP guidelines).
