This executive will develop and execute a world-class supply chain strategy to support business growth, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the food manufacturing industry, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a long-term supply chain strategy that aligns with the company’s business objectives, including procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration. Procurement and Sourcing: Lead the sourcing and procurement of raw materials, packaging, and ingredients. Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. Manufacturing and Operations: Partner with plant operations to optimize production schedules, manage capacity, and ensure product quality and safety standards are met. Logistics and Distribution: Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, warehousing, and transportation to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to customers and retailers. Inventory Management: Implement best practices for inventory planning and control to minimize waste and optimize stock levels. Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain, leveraging data analytics and technology to identify and implement process efficiencies. Budget Management: Develop and manage the supply chain budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high standards of quality and service. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including those related to raw material availability, transportation disruptions, and geopolitical factors. Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, finance, and R&D to ensure supply chain strategies support overall business goals. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in supply chain leadership, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience in the food or pet food manufacturing industry is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute complex supply chain strategies. Strong financial acumen and experience with P&L responsibility. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel as needed.
