Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Specialty: Rehab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 1 year of PTA experience preferred; new graduates with Level II experience are welcome. License: Active State Licensure required Certifications: PTA License required Must-Have: LTC or Rehab Experience required Description: Utilizes evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions. Provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist. Administers various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan, including but not limited to: manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices. Assesses patient progress and communicates with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly. Reports the effectiveness of treatment outcomes to the supervising Physical Therapist. Provides consultation and counseling to patients, family members, caregivers, and other service providers. Effectively communicates with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans. Provides input to supervisors for discharge summaries per regulatory and clinical requirements. Documents all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system and maintains patient records according to company policy. Accurately records treatment minutes for services provided per all regulatory and clinical requirements. Participates in required meetings, including patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings. Participates in facility and company-required trainings, in-services, and conferences. Works with the supervising Physical Therapist to obtain any necessary DME or supplies per regulatory and clinical practice requirements. Supervises and supports students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.
