Senior Accountant Job Description Position: Senior Accountant Location: Danville, KY Reports To: Controller / Accounting Manager Position Summary We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process, preparing financial statements, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of working independently while collaborating across departments. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations Lead month-end and year-end close activities Analyze financial results and investigate variances Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting Support external audits and provide requested documentation Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies Review and improve accounting processes and internal controls Collaborate with operations and department leaders on financial matters Assist with special projects, system implementations, and ad hoc reporting Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 3–7+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience with ERP/accounting systems Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications CPA designation or CPA candidate preferred Public accounting experience a plus Experience in manufacturing, healthcare, construction, real estate, or other relevant industry Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Professional development opportunities Ideal Candidate Profile: A hands-on accounting professional who enjoys improving processes, solving problems, and serving as a key contributor to the organization's financial operations.
