Transit Engineer

Transit Engineer As part of HDR’s Transportation Business Group, you’ll help shape the systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably. From designing resilient highways and iconic bridges to advancing transit, passenger and freight rail, aviation, federal transportation ports and marine infrastructure, your work will directly support economic vitality, public safety, sustainable and resilient communities and quality of life. Responsibilities Serve in a technical role, under the direction of a Project Manager Oversee the work of EITs and Junior Project Engineers Take responsibility for project involvement, ranging from site feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications A minimum of 3 years’ experience in transportation design – transit projects Preference given to candidates currently residing in the NY Metropolitan Area Required Qualifications Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng) Hands‑on experience with Microstation, OpenRail Designer, AutoCAD and Civil3D Must be able to work both independently and in a team setting MS Office software experience Excellent oral and written communication and project management skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must Location & Details Primary Location: United States, New York, New York Industry: Transit Schedule: Full‑time Employee Status: Regular Equal Opportunity At HDR, we are committed to the principles of employment equity.
