The primary function of this position is the operation of the Moto Cell, to weld the base and other components of steel square tubes. The Moto Operator loads steel shafts via conveyor into the machine and weld bases, hand hole rims and other components to make a complete or partially complete assembly. Monitors the quality of incoming steel shafts and determines when material is substandard. Operates welding equipment to perform GMAW (MIG) welding. Must be certified in MIG welding to meet AWS requirements as well as specialized certifications to customer requirements. Will be required to weld in flat and horizontal positions. Adjusts welding equipment to its prescribed settings, operates oxy/acetylene burning equipment. Uses IFS labor reporting system, standard shop forms, move tags, reads and utilizes blueprints.
