Job Description

The Service Technician provides technical support, repair, and installation services for a wide range of industrial equipment at a service center in New Albany, IN. This role focuses on diagnosing issues, repairing defective machinery received from multiple manufacturers, and creating clear technical support documentation. The technician works with diverse equipment daily and applies strong knowledge of electronics, mechanics, and pneumatics to ensure equipment is restored to safe and reliable operation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair defective industrial machinery received at the New Albany service center from multiple equipment manufacturers.
• Conduct service, maintenance, and installation of industrial products and partner products, ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate the creation, updating, and distribution of technical support documentation to assist internal teams and customers.
• Perform electro-mechanical troubleshooting on a variety of equipment, including electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Carry out soldering work on electronic components and assemblies as part of repair and rework activities.
• Assemble and disassemble machines and subassemblies, including electronic and mechanical components, to support repair and refurbishment.
• Operate machinery and equipment as needed to test, verify, and validate repairs and proper operation.
• Apply knowledge of software, IP addresses, and hardware configurations when setting up, testing, or troubleshooting equipment.
• Follow ISO standards and procedures while working within an ISO-regulated manufacturing and service environment.
• Use basic math skills to perform measurements, calculations, and adjustments required for accurate repairs and assemblies.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance service processes, quality, and efficiency.
• Handle packaging and preparation of repaired equipment for shipment, ensuring machines are properly protected and documented.
• Safely lift and move equipment and components weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily service activities.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of five years' experience in an ISO-regulated manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Solid understanding of electronics, including hardware, circuits, and components.
• Experience with soldering electronic components and assemblies.
• Knowledge of software interactions with equipment, including basic understanding of IP addresses and networked devices.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, including experience with mechanical assemblies and machine building.
• Understanding of pneumatic systems and their integration with mechanical and electronic components.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical documentation and procedures.
• Basic math skills to support measurements, calculations, and adjustments.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including safely lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Experience working within ISO standards and following documented processes in a regulated environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical assembly and electronic assembly in a production or service setting.
• Experience in machine building, including integration of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with panel building and electrical wiring practices.
• Experience with machine operation in a manufacturing or service environment.
• Exposure to continuous improvement practices and a mindset focused on process enhancement.
• Experience with packaging and preparing industrial equipment for shipment.
• Comfort working with a variety of equipment types and brands in a service depot environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a service center environment operating on a first shift schedule, typically from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The work involves hands-on repair and testing of industrial machinery from multiple manufacturers, using tools and equipment for electronics, soldering, mechanical assembly, and pneumatics. The setting follows ISO standards and structured procedures, with a focus on safety, quality, and consistent processes. The position is physically active, requiring regular lifting of equipment and components up to 50 pounds and working at benches, test stations, and machinery throughout the day.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $62400.00/yr.
