Manager, Client Development

Position Overview The Manager, Client Development & Engagement (CDE) collaborates with CDE Directors to support strategic plans and objectives for the Banking and Credit Practice, driving cross‑practice collaboration and managing client relationships. Responsibilities Collaborate with the CDE team, Partners, and client teams to implement business development strategies. Support cross‑practice collaboration across Banking and Credit and adjacent practice areas. Identify, prioritize, and pursue high‑potential client and sector opportunities. Assist Partners with presentation development, RFP responses, and internal presentations. Liaise to prepare and maintain up‑to‑date practice descriptions, capability statements, engagement lists, and competitive intelligence. Manage development and writing of marketing materials; assist Partners with market research, copywriting, and editing. Maintain the Firm's engagement database and case experience across all channels. Plan and manage practice and client events, including agendas, panels, speakers, and logistics. Coordinate marketing brochures, experience lists, and online content promotion. Prepare and manage directory submissions and survey responses. Support public relations efforts with senior CDE team members and PR resources. Mentor junior BD team members; onboard, train, and manage their development. Manage CDE projects and other Firm initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. 4–8 years of experience managing teams and complex projects. Experience cultivating and managing client relationships. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and web‑based research. Strong written and verbal communication, research, and analytical skills. Project management and organizational proficiency. Ability to collaborate across teams and facilitate knowledge sharing. Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making abilities. Flexibility to work additional hours as needed. Preferred Skills Experience in marketing and business development at a law firm. Familiarity with external data sources such as league tables and transaction databases. Experience with experience management databases (e.g., Content Pilot, Foundation). Salary Estimated base salary range: $180,000 to $220,000 (NY only). Salary will depend on qualifications, experience, education, certifications, and location.
