My children do best with a caregiver who is very patient, gentle, attentive, and calm. They are both very active and love to play, talk, ask questions, and have someone’s attention. I’m looking for someone who is willing to genuinely engage with them rather than just supervise them. My daughter can be sensitive and may become upset or frustrated at times, so I appreciate someone who can meet her at her level, listen to her, help her work through her feelings, and calmly redirect behaviors such as throwing things when she becomes upset. My children respond best to gentle guidance and positive reinforcement. I do not use or allow yelling, hitting, or harsh discipline.
