Tech - X-ray/Rad Tech

Job Description

Job Summary:

The X-ray/Rad Tech operates advanced imaging equipment under the supervision of radiologists and the Director of Radiology to perform diagnostic imaging procedures. The role involves providing high-quality images for accurate diagnosis and patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Operate Computerized Tomographic scanners and X-ray equipment to capture detailed images of various body parts.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including radiation safety standards.
• Prepare patients for procedures, explaining processes and positioning them correctly.
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Document imaging procedures accurately within the medical record systems.
• Cross-train in additional imaging modalities to support departmental flexibility.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an AMA-accredited school of radiologic technology.
• Registered in radiography, with additional certification in computed tomography (highly preferred).
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and practitioners.
• Familiarity with computer applications, including Meditech Health Information System.
• Willingness to work with neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Valid state license and BLS certification required.
