You’ll collaborate with various departments to investigate system issues and develop solutions that enhance our infrastructure's reliability and security. Your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information processed across our networks.We’ll look to you for:Installation, configuration, and management of networking devices and servers.Evaluation and recommendation of network-related procurement.Investigation of system issues to determine root causes and implement solutions.Planning and administration of network security measures.Development and maintenance of up-to-date system architecture.Documentation of system issues and resolutions for future reference.Participation in audits and the planning of business continuity and disaster recovery processes.All about youWe value proactive problem-solving and technical expertise. We don’t expect you to have every single skill listed, but the following qualifications will help you excel in this role:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.At least 5 years of experience in network and/or systems engineering and administration in a mixed Windows/Linux environment.Current experience with Red Hat/CentOS Linux operating systems.Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2012/2016) and Active Directory management.Experience with systems monitoring and management in a high-availability data center environment.A valid license in accordance with New York State Motor Vehicle Laws.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with VMware ESXi, vSphere, and related VMware technologies, including system design, scalability, and capacity management.Experience supporting mission-critical systems such as CCTV/VMS, PACS, PI, and PA systems is highly desirable.Experience with MS SQL and MariaDB databases is a plus.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server environments (2012/2016/2019/2022), including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Object (GPO) management.UHF radio communication experience is a plus.Familiarity with Nexsan and QNAP storage systems, and Cisco networking devices (switches, routers, firewalls).Proficient in TCP/IP-based LANs, iSCSI, Fiber Channel SANs, and VPNProfessional certifications A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, MCSA 2016 and VCPThings you’ll enjoyJoin us on a transformative journey in the rail industry, where you will have the opportunity to contribute to essential technology that makes a difference.
