Qualifications:

Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL and endorsement appropriate to assignment)
Previous experience teaching in the area of assignment within the last 4 years and/or coursework in the area of assignment within the last 3 years (or other equivalent experience/knowledge Superintendent determines will meet this qualification)
Comprehensive knowledge, understanding, and skill in the content area/assignment
Knowledge and experience with Google suite
Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities:

Screen the speech and language skills of new students, as well as those referred by teacher, parent, and physician
Participate in annual district preschool screenings
Schedule and preside at necessary MDC and IEP meetings, including Annual Reviews
Maintain student records in accordance with state requirements
Conduct speech and language case studies in order to determine eligibility for speech and language services
Complete speech and language evaluations as part of a full Case Study Evaluation initiated by the Student Support Team
Provide direct speech and language services to students, and consultation to classroom teachers and parents regarding speech and language disabilities and their relationship to the classroom
Preview, program, and plan the use of augmentative devices, as appropriate
Provide in-class student assistance, or co-teaching, as appropriate to students' needs listed on the IEP
Serve as a resource for the SST and parents regarding community agencies for speech and language referral
Record and report delivered services and related time for Medicaid reimbursement purposes
Utilize best practices for the application of assistive technology in line with student needs.
Performs other tasks and projects as assigned by the Building Administrator
