Key Responsibilities

• Execute thorough patient evaluations, coordinate diagnostic procedures, and create individual care pathways.
• Diagnose and address acute, chronic, or episodic ailments collaboratively with physicians or autonomously based on credentials.
• Empower patients and their families through education on health maintenance, preventive measures, and chronic condition management.
• Prescribe treatment plans and medication within the scope of practice.
• Engage in patient follow-ups and management of chronic care effectively.
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive and seamless patient experiences.
• Maintain precise and thorough documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

Certifications Needed

• Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia.
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC), or an equivalent specialty.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or capacity to achieve this within 90 days).
