Professional Content Specialist, ESL (Part-Time) Job Category: Adjunct Requisition Number: ADJUN001186 Posted: August 04, 2025 Part Time: On-site Rate: $24.00 USD per hour Location: Monmouth University Main Campus, West Long Branch, NJ Position Summary Monmouth University is seeking part-time ESL Professional Content Specialists in its Tutoring and Writing Services department. Candidates will provide English language instruction to a wide variety of non‑native English speaking students. Professional Content Specialists are faculty members with strong teaching backgrounds and expertise in specific content areas including sciences (biology/chemistry/physics), math (college algebra through calculus), or business (financial/managerial accounting, economics, business finance, money/credit). Candidates may also teach ESL, TESOL, or TOEFL prep to adult learners. This in‑person, on‑campus, non‑remote position requires the development and delivery of tutorials that help students strengthen knowledge, develop transferable learning skills, and achieve academic success. Duties and Responsibilities Provide academic support for First Year Advising referrals, Department of Disability Services referrals, probationary students, and students who receive MEWS notifications. Conduct individual tutorial sessions in relevant content areas. Use Navigate360 to document student attendance and record notes for each tutorial session. Attend tutoring service meetings and training sessions as required. Communicate regularly with the Director about student progress and report any concerns. Follow up with students as needed.
