The Opportunity The Accounting Coordinator supports daily accounting operations by processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting. This role works closely with internal teams to ensure accurate, timely, and SOX-compliant accounting activities while supporting overall business operations. How You Will Impact WestRock Perform Accounts Payable (AP) functions for the Conover facility, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and vendors are paid in accordance with established payment terms. Perform and verify three-way matching of purchase orders, receiving documents, and supplier invoices to ensure accurate payment authorization and compliance with company controls. Expedite high-priority requests with a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and follow-through to completion. Process vendor set up and maintenance requests, ensuring accurate supplier information within company systems. Serve as a primary point of contact for supplier inquiries, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. Investigate and resolve automatic voucher match exceptions and invoice discrepancies to support timely and accurate payment processing. Collaborate closely with Purchasing, Operations, and other internal departments on ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives. Support Accounts Receivable (AR) activities, including daily sales reporting, cash application, reconciliation, and customer-related transactions. Provide backup support for production reporting, inventory transactions, and operational data entry as needed. Assist with month-end close activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, reporting, and other close responsibilities. Maintain compliance with company policies, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. What You Need To Succeed High School Diploma (Required) Associate’s degree in finance/accounting (Preferred) Ability to work in team environment and be self-motivated.
