Saint Louis Counseling operates eight offices throughout metropolitan St. Louis. In addition, its School Partnership Program (SPP) therapists provide onsite services to students at more than 100 schools as well as children who are homeless living at area shelters. Job Summary Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, St. Louis Counseling and Queen of Peace Center, is seeking a Clinical Supervisor. The supervisor will provide clinical leadership, consultation, and oversight across outpatient mental health, school‑based behavioral health, residential treatment, and substance use disorder services for Saint Louis Counseling. The role ensures clinical quality, documentation compliance, risk management, and consistent implementation of evidence‑based and trauma‑informed care across programs. The Clinical Supervisor provides reflective supervision, case consultation, documentation review, and support for complex clinical and crisis situations for licensed clinicians, provisionally licensed therapists, and interns. The position collaborates with program and operational leadership to strengthen compliance, accreditation readiness, interdisciplinary coordination, and effective clinical workflows. The annual compensation starts at $60,000. Overview and Responsibilities Provide clinical supervision, consultation, and mentorship to licensed clinicians, provisionally licensed staff, and interns. Support staff with assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, crisis intervention, discharge planning, and complex behavioral health cases. Facilitate individual and group supervision meetings in accordance with licensing and ethical standards. Monitor documentation of quality, compliance, timeliness, and adherence to payer, regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards. Conduct chart reviews and support quality improvement, accreditation of readiness, and documentation training initiatives. Reinforce evidence-based, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and recovery-oriented care practices. Support clinicians working in outpatient, residential, school-based, and substance use disorder treatment settings. Assist staff with ASAM criteria, care coordination, continuity of care, relapse prevention, and crisis response. Collaborate with program leadership regarding workflow, productivity, operational needs, and staff development. Support onboarding, training, professional development, and clinician performance improvement efforts. Promote collaboration, accountability, professionalism, ethical practice, and client safety across programs. Assist with risk management, mandated reporting, safety concerns, confidentiality, and compliance with behavioral health regulations and Joint Commission standards. Additional duties as assigned. Knowledge and Experience Requirements Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related behavioral health field required. Current Missouri clinical licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) required; approved clinical supervisor status preferred. Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience required. Experience providing clinical supervision, consultation, or field instruction preferred. Prior experience in outpatient behavioral health, school-based services, substance use disorder treatment, and/or residential treatment settings strongly preferred, including work with children, adolescents, adults, families, and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Skills and Competencies Required Demonstrates advanced knowledge of behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, crisis intervention, ethical practice, and clinical documentation standards; ensures adherence to regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements. Provides effective clinical supervision, coaching, and case consultation, supporting staff performance, licensure development, and implementation of evidence‑based and trauma‑informed practices. Monitors documentation quality and compliance through regular chart reviews, achieving established standards for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness. Applies knowledge of ASAM criteria, recovery‑oriented systems of care, integrated behavioral healthcare, and Joint Commission standards to support clinical decision‑making and program quality. Utilizes strong communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills to facilitate interdisciplinary teamwork and promote positive clinical and operational outcomes. Analyzes clinical, compliance, and operational concerns; develops and communicates actionable recommendations that support quality improvement and risk mitigation efforts. Maintains proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and reporting tools to support documentation oversight, performance monitoring, and service delivery efficiency. Demonstrates sound clinical judgment, professionalism, adaptability, and crisis‑management skills while effectively balancing staff support, accountability, and organizational expectations across multiple service locations. Resources for Which Accountable Clinical Staff Supervision & Development: Provides supervision, coaching, mentorship, onboarding, and performance support for clinicians, provisionally licensed staff, and interns. Clinical Quality, Documentation & Compliance: Oversees chart reviews, documentation standards, EHR compliance, accreditation readiness, and adherence to regulatory and payer requirements. Risk Management & Client Safety: Supports crisis response, mandated reporting, confidentiality, risk mitigation, and compliance with behavioral health and Joint Commission standards. Behavioral Health Program Services: Promotes consistent, evidence‑based, trauma‑informed, and recovery‑oriented care across outpatient, residential, school‑based, and substance use disorder programs. Operational & Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partners with program leadership to support workflow efficiency, productivity, care coordination, staff development, and quality improvement initiatives.
