Electromechanical Technician

Advantage Technical

The Electromechanical Technician is responsible for installing, programming, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and plant electrical systems. This role supports reliable production by maintaining controls, electronics, motors, drives, and power-transmission equipment, and by performing a variety of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Program, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems.
Design, install, and maintain control panels, electrical systems, and HMI interfaces.
Troubleshoot and support motor controls, VFDs, servo drives, and related equipment.
Perform electrical and electronic diagnostics, repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance.
Maintain and service plant electrical distribution systems, including switchgear.
Identify and implement automation and process improvement opportunities.
Maintain equipment records, including barrel and screw inventory and maintenance history.
Follow all safety and quality procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Formal training in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and repair.
Minimum three (3) years of industrial electrical, electronics, automation, or maintenance experience.
Experience with PLCs, motor controls, VFDs, HMIs, and industrial automation systems preferred.
