LOCATION OF POSITION MDH, Caroline County Health Department Denton, MD 21629 Main Purpose of Job The main purpose of this full-time contractual position is to implement maternal and child health grants at the local health department (LHD) level. This position will provide case management services to pregnant and postpartum community residents. This position will assist with tracking grant-associated performance measures and identify realistic opportunities for program growth within the LHD's capabilities. This position will also assist with other nursing duties, including emergency preparedness response and vaccination clinics, as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: A Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university. Experience: None. Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as a Registered Nurse for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute two years of experience as a Registered Nurse for the required education.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classification or Nursing or Health Care Specialist specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience providing care to pediatric patients and administering immunizations to patients across the lifespan. Experience providing case management services to pregnant and postpartum individuals. Experience tracking grant performance measures and program data. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland. BENEFITS Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract, and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits. Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12-month period.
