Job Position: Press Operator

Location: Douglas, GA 31533

Pay Rate: $18.00/hr

Shift: 1st 5:00am - 3:30pm

Description: General Qualifications:
• Ability to maintain acceptable production rates.
• Able to perform simple math.
• Able to read calipers and tape measures.
• Able to lift 25 lbs.
• Able to read and write English.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to reach with hands & arms, bend & stoop.
• Able to stand natural weather conditions (cold & hot)
• Use of personal safety equipment (Glasses and ear plugs)
• Keep work area clean.
• Notify maintenance when repairs are needed.
• Able to work in a hot non-climate controlled environment.


Job Duties
• The ability to learn the following:
• Knowledge of the operator of the press, both automated and manual
• The safety functions (how to operate kill switches)
• All press parts and functions (container, ram, billet loader, butt shear)
• Set up for all dies (bolsters and sub-bolsters)
• The function of the puller (when to use, how much torque to apply)
• Operation of the log oven, including the conveyor, forward, reverse and pinch rule unit, log shear, billet temp, zones 1, 2, 3.
• How to check metal (waving, die lines, dimensions)
• Cooling systems (fans under cooling table, speed of run-out table and usage of walking table, water quinch, etc)
