Lecturer BUS 300 - Business Professional Development (Fall 2026) Job no: 559719 Work type: Instructional Faculty - Temporary/Lecturer Location: San Marcos Categories: Unit 3 - CFA - California Faculty Association, Temporary, Part Time, Faculty - Business/Management Course Description The College of Business Administration at California State University San Marcos seeks part‑time lecturers for Fall 2026 to teach Business 300: Business Professional Development, one of our Signature Programs. This required 2‑unit course enhances students’ professional skills by teaching interactive lessons pertaining to career exploration, soft skill development (e.g., employability skills), and job search strategies. This position requires facilitation skills that aim to increase our students’ career confidence. Candidates should be professionally engaged for at least the past 8 years and have knowledge of industry trends for career development practices. The course uniquely incorporates executive coaching; executive in residence (EIR) coaches work alongside instructors to ensure students meet coaching requirements and complete self‑reflective assignments. Candidates should be able to foster a team environment with assigned coaches and ensure timely and frequent communication. Responsibilities

• Teach Business 300, deliver interactive lessons, and facilitate large group discussions.
• Collaborate with EIR coaches to design, deliver, and assess coaching requirements.
• Engage students in career exploration, soft‑skill development, and job‑search strategies.
• Maintain and submit timely course documentation and student evaluations.

Qualifications A master’s degree in business or a related discipline. Active current industry experience in business, management, recruiting, and/or career development. Ability to facilitate large group discussions and/or experience in teaching or conducting workshops. Proficiency in using technology including video conferencing (e.g., Zoom, Teams), Microsoft Office (PPT), and LinkedIn. Willingness to adapt and be engaged in continuous learning and development. Compliance with the California State University Out‑of‑State Employment Policy; work in California is a condition of employment. Preferred Qualifications A doctorate or equivalent. Professional association affiliations and/or consulting services. Previous teaching and coaching experience. Demonstrated intercultural competence and commitment to serving the campus community. Salary Salary commensurate with degree level and experience. Anticipated hiring salary range: $5,507 - $6,677 per full‑time month.
