We are looking for a skilled Wheel Technician with Automotive Body Prepper experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in inspecting, repairing, and refurbishing automotive wheels, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. In addition to the Wheel Technician experience, the candidate would need Automotive Body Prepper experience which plays a crucial role in preparing vehicles for paint, cosmetic repair, or final detailing. This includes sanding, taping, masking, buffing, and ensuring surfaces are clean and properly prepped to meet high-quality standards. Responsibilities:

• Inspect wheels for damage, defects, or wear, including cracks, bends, and corrosion. Accurately diagnose issues and determine appropriate repair or replacement options.
• Perform wheel repairs such as straightening bent rims, welding cracks, resurfacing, and refinishing using industry-standard tools and techniques
• Refurbish wheels by repairing cosmetic damage, re-coating, and refinishing wheels to restore their appearance to like-new condition.
• Perform cosmetic paint repairs, including touch-ups, spot repairs, scratch removal, and refinishing. 
• Repair curb rash, scratches, gouges, and other cosmetic wheel damage on aluminum and alloy wheels. 
• Sand, prep, prime, paint, and clear coat repaired surfaces. 
• Color match paint to manufacturer specifications. 
• Perform buffing, polishing, wet sanding, and paint correction services. 
• Remove surface imperfections, oxidation, and minor body defects.
• Sand and feather automotive surfaces for paint application.
• Mask and tape vehicles accurately to protect non-painted areas.
• Clean panels thoroughly to ensure surface readiness.
• Apply primers, sealers, or adhesion promoters as directed.
• Move vehicles in and out of prep/paint booths and staging areas.
• Inspect body panels for imperfections or contamination prior to paint.
• Assist painters and body technicians with repair flow
• ·Maintain cleanliness of work area, tools, and safety equipment
• Inspect vehicles before and after repairs to ensure quality standards are met. 
• Operate paint spraying equipment and wheel repair tools safely and effectively. 
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment. 
• Adhere to company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental regulations. 
• Document completed repairs and communicate repair status to management. 
• Meet productivity, quality, and turnaround time expectations. 
• Assist with other vehicle reconditioning duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of automotive reconditioning experience, including wheel repair, paint repair, body shop, or related experience. 
• Knowledge of automotive paint systems, refinishing techniques, and color matching. 
• Experience using sanding, grinding, polishing, and painting equipment. 
• Ability to identify and repair cosmetic vehicle defects. 
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. 
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision. 
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to work legally in the United States.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate hand tools, spray equipment, and polishing equipment.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a service center environment. The position requires regular exposure to automotive chemicals, paint products, dust, and shop equipment. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn at all times.
