Safety Manager

Safety Manager Location: Marshall, MN Position Type: Full-Time | Leadership Role Position Overview The Safety Manager is responsible for leading and supporting safety programs across all operating locations , including 90 retail stores, 5 distribution centers, and the Retail Support Center across 12 states . The role partners closely with Operations, Human Resources, insurance providers, and executive leadership to strengthen safety culture, ensure OSHA compliance, reduce risk, and improve overall safety performance. Key Responsibilities Enterprise Safety Leadership Lead company-wide safety initiatives across retail, warehouse, distribution, and corporate operations. Build and promote a proactive safety culture. Develop executive-level safety reports and dashboards. Partner with Operations and HR to implement consistent safety practices. Safety Programs & Training Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures. Deliver onboarding and ongoing safety training. Lead safety meetings and support local safety committees. Ensure programs address hazards including: Slips, trips, and falls Material handling and ergonomics Powered industrial trucks (forklifts) Dock safety Machine guarding Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Conveyor safety Seasonal operations Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations. Represent during OSHA inspections. Manage OSHA recordkeeping and reporting. Conduct multi-state safety audits and risk assessments. Maintain contractor safety and documentation. Incident & Risk Management Oversee incident, injury, and near-miss investigations. Perform root cause analysis. Partner with HR on workers' compensation and return-to-work programs. Track and improve EMR (Experience Modification Rate), loss ratios, and claim trends. Continuous Improvement Analyze safety metrics and identify improvement opportunities. Work with insurance brokers and safety consultants. Support company growth by scaling safety programs. Recommend corrective actions and stop unsafe operations when necessary. Emergency Preparedness Develop Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) and Fire Prevention Plans (FPPs). Coordinate emergency drills and training. Ensure emergency response procedures remain current. Travel Frequent travel throughout all operating states to conduct audits, investigations, training, and compliance activities. #J-18808-Ljbffr
