School Speech Language Pathologist - Independence, MO

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting an autism program at the elementary level. This position covers a maternity leave from August 17th to September 4th, offering steady, full-time hours (Monday through Friday, 9am-4:40pm) dedicated to make a pivotal impact on students' communication skills and growth. This is an onsite position focusing on providing Speech-Language Pathology expertise within a collaborative school environment.


Ideal Experience & Qualities:

• Current SLP license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
• Background working in school settings, particularly elementary age students
• Experience with autism-spectrum caseloads, employing evidence-based strategies and individualized interventions
• Confidence developing and implementing IEPs, progress monitoring, and reporting
• Strong communication with students, teachers, and family members
• Flexible approach and the ability to adapt quickly to changing needs within the program

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct speech-language therapy to students within an autism program
• Conduct assessments and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
• Craft and update IEP goals; monitor and document student progress
• Communicate ongoing needs and successes with families and faculty
• Foster a supportive, inclusive environment for each learner
• Participate in staff meetings, providing professional insights as needed
