Material HandlerThree D Metals is currently hiring a material handler for the production department in our newest Valley City location. We are looking for an energetic and adaptable candidate to join our growing team. We offer vacation and personal time.The Material Handler will perform variety of functions that control the movement of material through the production life cycle.Essential functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Bring materials to the machinesTake finished product and put away in designated areasPull and stage finished product for shipmentsLoad and unload trucksRead and understand packing lists and bills of ladingEmpty hoppers and assist with general plant organizationFollow all safety procedures and company policiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and experience:High School Diploma or GEDTwo years of experience with forklifts, counterbalance and/or reach truckTwo years of experience in a manufacturing environmentShipping & Receiving experience preferredLanguage skills:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Mathematical skills:Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement.Physical demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.Work environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
