Assistant Wrestling Coach

Reporting to the Head Wrestling Coach, the Assistant Wrestling Coach supports the program’s success through skill development and performance of student-athletes, recruitment, retention, and conduct. This role requires working weekends and holidays and attending athletic events as appropriate. Responsible for knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Violation responsibility may result in disciplinary action. Responsibilities Assists with athlete development related to proper technique, fundamentals, advanced skill instruction, and competition. Assists with recruitment and evaluation of prospective student‑athletes. Evaluates performance, conduct, and abilities of groups or individuals as assigned by the Head Coach. Participates in program planning, game preparation, practices, and game‑day activities. Manages social media interactions/posts of the wrestling program ensuring compliance with department standards and NCAA rules. Promotes and cultivates alumni programs and outreach in conjunction with Institutional Advancement. Reviews NCAA, CAA, and EIWA rule changes annually as they pertain to the wrestling program. Coordinates and submits NCAA recruiting, countable athletic activity, and campus visit logs in a timely fashion. Adheres to and enforces policies and procedures of Hofstra University, Athletic Department, CAA, EIWA, and NCAA. Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Coach. Qualifications Valid driver’s license. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant coaching experience. Preferred Qualifications Division I college wrestling experience. Salary Salary range: $50,000 - $53,000 per year (Annual car stipend $6,000). Additional Information Hofstra University provides the above salary as a good‑faith estimate of the starting pay range, which considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
